Sustainability Strategy, Reporting & Verification
Many enterprises have or are considering the adoption of a sustainability program that couples economic, social and environmental principles into an acceptable triple bottom line. This includes studying its energy and environmental footprints and may include having to disclose this performance data in public reports or real estate transactions. EC2 can offer its corporate clients the following services:
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability Strategy. For example, publicly-traded corporations may provide an annual or quarterly sustainability progress report to their shareholders. EC2 can assist in developing the data or format needed for reporting CSR activities.
Green building programming and verification. Corporations or municipalities may want to develop a unified initiative that all new construction or large renovations meet sustainability construction and operation goals. EC2 can assist in developing the program or mandate through education, “toolkits”, guidance manuals, sourcebooks, specification manuals, and sustainability guidelines.
LEED Portfolio Management includes determining which assets in a portfolio need to be improved in order to minimize the potential for “functional obsolescence” by improving the asset to a specific green building standard. For instance an asset portfolio may include buildings that need to be improved to LEED Existing Building Operations and Maintenance (EBO+M) standards, or tenant improvements be improved to LEED Commercial Interiors (CI) standards. Another approach is to integrate the portfolio with Energy Star Portfolio Manager building performance rating system.
